60 years of passion: the history of our family oil mill
Dear friends and enthusiasts of Perniola extra virgin olive oil,
We are thrilled and grateful to celebrate a momentous occasion with you: our first 60 years of business. It has been an incredible journey, a path deeply rooted in our family, and today we want to share with you our history, our passion, and our enthusiasm for the future.
It all began way back in 1963 with our first mill producing extra virgin olive oil through cold pressing.
Over the years, our family's history has become intertwined with that of our mill. Three generations confronting each other, with different approaches, but with a common goal: to carry on a legacy based on fundamental values.
This year, on October 1st, we celebrated these 60 years of commitment and dedication with a special event at our mill in Altamura. We were honored to have guests share their knowledge and the latest trends in the olive oil industry. Their excellent presentations enriched our celebratory day and inspired us to innovate and improve.

FROM TRADITION TO INNOVATION speech by Pasquale Clemente (COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR CLEMENTE SRL )
During his speech, Mr. Clemente expressed his gratitude for us making a bold and innovative decision in 2020: modernizing our production facility. Initially, this decision raised concerns among customers, accustomed to a consolidated production method and the resulting oil's superior taste. However, Clemente SRL, along with its team, enthusiastically embraced this initiative, fully aware of the benefits it would bring. The goal was clear: to optimize production times and improve oil quality, while minimizing the presence of oxygen along the production line.
The changes made to the production plant were revolutionary. The cleaning system was implemented to ensure the olives were clean and free of foreign matter, ready for the next stage: pressing. The old millstone was replaced with a modern crusher, followed by malaxers and a three-stage decanter that separates water, pomace and oil. These improvements have resulted in a clear and significant improvement in the quality of the oil we produce.
Our mill has quickly become a benchmark for the entire olive oil sector, thanks to the dedication, hygiene, and attention to detail throughout the production process.
Finally, the sales director of Clemente SRL concluded his speech with these words : "What makes me proud and honored is seeing that every year, year after year, the Perniola family, which is now a real company, increases both the number of customers who come to the mill to mill their olives and the sales of extra virgin olive oil."

A TASTE OF OUR OIL by Nicola Perrucci (AMEDOO PANEL LEADER RECOGNIZED BY MASAF)
Nicola Perrucci's role at the event was to be an extremely informative and detailed speaker. In his speech, he celebrated our company's 60th anniversary and highlighted the innovations introduced in the oil production process.
Perrucci then shared his personal experience as panel leader, explaining how crucial this role is in certifying the product classification of olive oil. He also discussed the mechanical processes involved in oil production and emphasized the importance of preventing oxidation throughout the process. He emphasized the importance of growing, harvesting, and processing olives, as well as the need to comply with the regulations governing the olive oil sector.
Finally, he suggested organizing training courses to deepen the understanding of olive oil production. Nicola Perrucci's presentation was a valuable contribution to the understanding of this sector and to promoting the quality of extra virgin olive oil.

On this extraordinary occasion, we also proudly presented a new product line called "u zirr," made of ceramic, reminiscent of the traditional steel container used to store oil. We're thrilled to share this new adventure with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
